Your Character and You To us, your main character is the one that takes priority over all of your characters across all servers and factions. This character is the first one you reach for when you play WoW, the one you like most, and the one you will play the most.
- What is your main character? Whatever the guild needs, I currently have 4 level 80s. I don't favor any over the other.
- What is your main's class? Druid - Berdoa - Boomkin / Resto / Bear Priest - Sulhey - Disc / Holy / Shadow Deathknight - Wulfgar - Blood DPS / Frost Tank Paladin - Sydknee - Ret / Holy
- What is your main's primary role (Melee DPS, Ranged DPS, Tank, Healer)? Ranged DPS, tank and heal offsets.
- If you are still leveling, have you read the post on Assistance for Leveling Guildies? N/A
- How many hours per week do you typically play on your main character? It varies- At least 14
- Are you 18-years of age or older?* Currently 19, 20 in November.
* - exceptions can be made, especially with recommendations from active Praetorians.
Your Goals Every guild is different. If a guild does not support your in-game goals, then it is probably a bad match.
- What are your goals in Warcraft? To extensively clear content while its current, while having some "lulz" along the way.
- How did you hear about Grim Legion? Numerous sources.
- Why have you chosen to apply to Grim Legion? You're at the content that my last raiding guild left off before their collapse. (Quietus)
Schedule Our guild "prime time" is 7:45 PM to 11 PM server (central). We typically raid three nights a week, take two nights off, and spend the other two nights doing everything else. Our specific current schedule can always be found on our Recruitment FAQ.
- What is your local time zone? Pacific
- Do you have any conflicts with a 7:45 PM to 11 PM schedule? Nope. =D
Participation Most of our guild events require at least 25 geared and skilled people. As such, your willingness to regularly participate enough to support your fellow guildies properly is important. This is one of those areas that is confusing for many people in that we are not so casual that any participation level is acceptable nor are we so hardcore that we expect you here every night. Our participation requirement is reproduced below for your convenience:
In a typical week, a guild member would be expected to participate in a *minimum* of three guild nights, including at least one night's worth of non-Raid guild events and at least two nights of raiding. We want to ensure that our members get the support they need to see the end-game content as well as prepare for the harder stuff, such as raiding. When we do raid, we want our Raids to be fun and successful. Ideally, a member would participate more than the minimum on a regular basis, preferably 4 nights a week on average.
These requirements, 3-4 days from 7:45 PM to 11:00 PM, translate into 10-13 hours per week.
Overall Time Commitment - Can you consistently accommodate the 3-4 days and 10-13 hours per week participation requirement? Yessir.
- Do you have any conflicts with the above non-raid days and times? Not currently!
Raid Night Commitment We currently raid 7:45 PM to 11 PM (CST; Kirin Tor server time) on Tue, Wed, and Sunday.
- Do you have any conflicts with the above raid days and times? Nope
- Which of those days can you regularly raid? All, unless I inform you otherwise, which I would do in a timely fashion.
Non-Raid Night Commitment We ask folks to show up to one non-raid event each week. Currently, those are 7:45 PM to 11 PM on Monday.
- Do you have any conflicts with the above non-raid days and times? Same as last statement.
Guild Rules We enforce our policies. We ask every applicant to fully review our posted policies to help ensure that this is the right guild for them. When folks join a guild and then are shocked by policies they can't tolerate, it's an unfortunate waste of time for everyone.
- Have you read the complete Articles of War? Yes.
- What is your most favorite Article of War? "We get gear to raid, not the other way around. For us, gear facilitates seeing the end-game content. We want our raids to be well-equipped and capable so that they can conquer the content and see it all."
- What is your least favorite Article of War? "Raid members should not release their spirits when they die without consulting the raid leader first. If there is any uncertainty, simply ask in Ventrilo, Raid chat, or via a Whisper." Its not necessarily my least favorite, but it will be a challenge to get in the swing of this. I usually auto release if there are no battle rezzes available.
- Have you read our Recruitment FAQ? Yes'm
- For us, Conduct is King. Have you read, and do you completely agree with, our Code of Conduct? Yes.
Expectations To help you better understand what is required before you will be fully raid-qualified, please review our Becoming a Whelp: A Guide for Initiates , which describes the Initiation process, and our Becoming a Praetorian - A Guide for Legionnaires Guide, which spells out the steps to becoming raid-qualified. Note: If you are already geared up for raiding, you can complete these steps simultaneously.
Note: Praetorian rank is a priority on raiding slots. Lower-ranked guild members may be brought into a raid to fill empty slots after all Praetorians have been given an opportunity, at the raid leader's discretion (in consultation with the officers), provided it will not compromise the success of the raid.
World of Warcraft PvE Progression Your PvE experience will not affect your chances of being accepted, but understanding your PvE experience helps us understand how much guidance and/or mentoring you might need. This helps guide our efforts to insure our guildies get the support they need.
- What is the average Item Level of the gear for your main role? 2pc 245, 2pc 251. Rest is 264.
- What percentage of the Regular Northrend Dungeons have you cleared? 100%
- What percentage of the Heroic Northrend Dungeons have you cleared? 100%
- What 10-man Northrend Raids have you cleared? Only missing Algolon, Sindy, LK, and Halion.
- What 25-man Northrend Raids have you cleared? Only missing Algolon, LK, and Halion.
World of Warcraft PvP Experience We are an end-game guild, and that does include PvP. We also have found that PvP builds valuable reflexes that dramatically improve raid survival and thus effectiveness, since we all know how much DPS, HPS, and TPS one does when they are dead - zero.
- How many honorable kills do you have? 5.6k.
- What is your experience with the various Battlegrounds? Have done them all numerous times, PvE is my main priority, though.
- Have you participated on any Arena Teams, and if so, what was your teams highest ranking? Acquired an 1800 rating with 0 resilience on my disc priest back in BC.
- What is your interest in city raids? Little to none, its fun sometimes.
Server History Now it's time to find out a bit about your characters and what brought you here.
- Is your main currently a character on Kirin Tor? Yep.
- How many characters do you have on other servers? None.
- How many characters do you have in the Alliance faction on Kirin Tor and to what guilds do they belong? For the Horde!
- If you are a Death Knight, who was your first main character, why did you switch to a Death Knight, and what is the current status of your former main? N/A
- Were you in any other guilds prior to applying to this guild (on either the Kirin Tor or on other servers)? If yes, please list which guilds.
In BC I was in Incarnate, Chapter Seven, Remnant, and Creeping Death. Might be missing one or two. =X
In WotLK I was in Knights of Neraka, Quietus, and Faceroll Syndicate.
- If so, what were your reasons for leaving? Mostly collapses. =/
- Do you have any friends in Grim Legion? Syclone- Probably a few others that I can't recall.
- Do you have any friends you would bring with you to Grim Legion (please note that each friend needs to fill out an application as well)? Not currently.
Required Utilities & Capabilities The following are required to be available for every computer on which you will raid with us; they are not optional. If you lack any of the following, please describe how and when you will satisfy it. Note: without a working mic and Ventrilo, we cannot proceed to your interview. Do you have Ventrilo? Yes. Do you have Omen 3? No, will download after I'm in. Do you have a working mic? Yes. Do you have oRA2* (required for raiding)? No, will download after I'm in. Do you have DBM? Yes. Do you have Grid (plus other modules) (required for healing)? I despise grid for healing, I personally like Healbot.
* - Essentially, a lightweight alternative of CTRA.
